Moore's Hill Estate
The Winery
Established in 1997, the majority of the Moores Hill Estate vineyard has been planted with the most modern clones supplied by either Pipers Brook or Tamar Ridge Vineyards. The remainder of the stock was developed from the original vineyard, Waterton.
Absolute care and detail is given to the selection of grape clones and vineyard details to ensure ultimate quality is attained. All grapes are hand-picked. Emphasis is always on the perfection of vineyard details and in 2003 the Cellar Door started operation, with the selling of the wine and local craft items. Sweeping views from the balcony overlooking the vineyard delight visitors from around the globe.

The Wine
Moores Hill Estate grapes are transported to Tamar Ridge Winery where wine making is controlled by Dr Andrew Pirie.
All wines to date, though young, have been of exceptional quality, and have been well regarded nationally resulting in many awarded wines for Moores Hill Estate.

Tasting Notes -
Moores Hill 2005 Chardonnay
Bright, straw gold colour, suggests that the fruit was plenty ripe. Subtle aromatic nose, with stone fruit characters, hints of apricot and smoked ham and some citrus overtones. Good palate characteristics, showing much the same characters as the nose, but in a very elegant, nicely balanced package.

Best with deep sea fish
and chicken and seafood stir fry.
